Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has the view that Petr Cech will add a winning mentality to Arsenal after a completed a move from Stamford bridge.
Wenger for the first time since Cech arrived spoke concerning his decision to sign the 33-year-old former Chelsea Veteran, as he claim it was a tough decision to sign an extra keeper to provide competition for Wojciech Szczesny and David Opsina.
Yet he concluded that the qualities Cech will bring to his side outweighed his loyalties to the two keepers he relied upon throughout last season.
"It was a very, very tough decision [to buy Cech] because I have two great goalkeepers. I think Cech can make them better as well," Wenger told Arsenal Player.
"He has huge experience and the fact that he has won more big trophies can strengthen the belief of the team. That can help them to develop and that's what I expect from him.
"You always want to improve the experience level of your squad and I thought he could help us gain something on that front.
"I still think he has a huge hunger. When I saw him with Chelsea last year he was always convincing and I'm happy that we could do it. His kind of knowledge and experience can help us."
Four-time Premier League winner Cech joining Arsenal came with a huge surprise, because nobody would have imagine that happening, considering the Jose Mourinho factor too, nobody would ever expect him to be allowed to join Arsene Wenger side.
Meanwhile, speculation continues to link Opsina with a move away from Arsenal following Cech's arrival, with Turkish side Fenerbahce among those being linked with a move for the Colombian stopper.
